Don’t Mind If I Ask…

The creative industry is more than its products, which is why hearing the hearts and minds of its community is refreshing as it is insightful.

Don’t Mind If’s inaugural communications design community and industry survey report provides a much needed and overdue introspection into Singapore’s creative industry. If you’re part of this colourful community, considering a path in it or even just curious, grab a copy and peak at the consolidated perspectives on what makes it tick.

The collective responses pin-point the factual (‘Who are we?’, ‘What do we do?’), consider current practices (‘How does one get into the industry’ and ‘How are we running our businesses?’), delve deeper into the heartfelt (‘Are we happy?’) and casts the mind’s eye to the future (‘Where do we go from here?’).

It’s not all bright skies and butterflies, though. The survey raises a plethora of challenges and disappointments, which look to persist unless the local creative community give them due regard and attention. To this, the revelations from the survey should be duly ingested and spark topical conversations for improvement.
